Looking right at home in gallery 261 is "Tulipomania/Irrational Exuberance," by contemporary artist Mara Superior. She created it after the 2008 stock market crash, and the title relates the frenzy of 2008 to the great Dutch tulip crash of 1637, which ended a phenomenon known as "tulipomania." The vase takes the form of a Dutch house that, at the height of tulipomania, was traded for three tulip bulbs.
