After arriving in Chicago, I had the opportunity to tour the Genomic Data Commons -- a platform built by the University of Chicago for the National Cancer Institute. It's the largest amount of raw cancer genomic data ever stored in one location for public access. My hope is that it will be pivotal in advancing precision medicine -- allowing physicians to tailor therapies to the specific characteristics of a person's cancer.
