今日は暦の上で清明（せいめい）。
万物がすがすがしく明るい美しい季節に合わせ、春の野をイメージして作った雪平の菓子。

清明とは、万物が清らかでいきいきとした様子を表す「清浄明潔」という言葉を訳した晩春を表す季語で、この頃になると青く澄んだ空の下、草木が芽生え、花が咲き、蝶が舞い、あらゆる命がキラキラと輝きます。
