Ishy! . She is a marble fox, about 9 months of age. Her BFFs are Ambassadors Sophia and Boris- they are Russian domesticated foxes. Ishy is definitely a product of the success of selective breeding in the fur farming industry. Her fur is phenomenal and far surpasses the quality of the Russian domesticated foxes, which were selectively bred for tameness. She is being raised with Sophie and Boris and we have found her vocalizations and disposition has been strongly influenced by them. She has been living with Boris, as Ishy is not fixed and, while Sophie is, Sophie doesn't seem to know it... Her disposition is still in line with nesting and resourcing for her babies- and Ishy smells like competition... And since Boris likes the way Ishy smells, that makes Sophie even more angry. So Sophia was given some babies and placed in her own room... Within about one month of Ishy and Boris living together, we have noticed a change in Ishy. Clearly not a randomized clinical trial, but have noticed Ishy being slightly more interested in interacting with us, more friendly... Do you think Boris has had a talkin with her? Do you think it is the influence of Boris? Do you think it is just hormonal?? Not sure, but absolutely adorable to experience... I will work on getting an update on Rylai- promise!!
