Introduced in 2012 as part of TAG Heuer’s high-precision “Mikro” line of chronographs, the MikrotourbillonS employs two separate tourbillons.  The tourbillon regulating the watch rotates once per minute, while the tourbillon for the chronograph rotates every five seconds.  Powered by separate movements, the  escapement for the watch vibrates at 28,000 vibrations per hour (4hz), while the chronograph escapement vibrates at 360,000 vibrations per hour (50hz).  The chronograph’s central second hand makes a full rotation each second, with markings in 1/100 second increments.  The 45mm Carrera case is finished in rose gold and the exotic metal, tantalum.
