Police Special.. If I chose to be a cop I know I would have been a great police officer. Not to tough, not too soft, and approaching the job with a good amount of levity. I have lots of cop friends from all over the world. It is a job that builds up a scab on your sensitivity. One day you are delivering a baby on the freeway, and the next you are the first responder to a murder suicide. You are exposed a gauntlet of non stop petty domestic disputes, and endless gore filled crime scenes. It's something different every day, and I'm sure a lot of repetition in the area you patrol. That repetition and familiarity is probably the best part of a police officers job. Seeing the difference you make in the influenceable. Common sense is the corner stone of policing any community. I'm sure there is a good percentage that are "by the book" but the ones that shine in their position do it with common sense. Of coarse there is bad cops that make bad decisions, I've been punched by a few of those, but I never judged every cop because a couple wanted to be dicks. I always took it as a mutual combat thing. If I didn't want to get punched? I probably should not have broken the laws I broke. That's the thing about breaking laws. You can be an asshole and be lawless, but you can't pick your punishment. I come from a world (Long Beach) where you run from the cops or you take a swing at a cop? You get your ass kicked. I'm totally fine with that. When was caught, I knew I was caught. So now all these dumbshits blaming cops because they got shot. Or beat up, or their habitual law breaker kid got killed while breaking the law? It's a joke, and shows true ignorance for the way society and freedom works in this country. It makes me sick that it has escalated to police officers randomly being killed. All because law breaker criminals want to break laws and pick their punishment. It's totally ok to not like police officers, but you in some way have to respect the job they are doing. If you don't? Then the next time somebody steals your shit, or breaks into your house or a drunk driver kills your family. Don't call the police and don't expect (demand) they do something about it..
