Sir John Everett Millais's 'Ophelia' was inspired by #Shakespeare's tragic heroine, who mad with grief after her father’s murder by Hamlet, her lover, commits suicide. #Millais made the flowers she holds symbolic: the poppy means death, daisies innocence and pansies love in vain.
