Nakamura Tokichi Honten (main store) in Uji, Kyoto, amazes with this perfect bowl of hot chasoba and their matcha jelly dessert.

Perfectly cooked chasoba noodles in a dashi broth so full of umami flavour I finished the whole bowl, including the soup.
Oishii!

Dessert was their signature matcha jelly served in bamboo cup with shiratama dango, ice cream and azuki beans.
The jelly was so silky and soft it was hard to scoop with the spoon and ice cream was absolutely creamy with a pronounced matcha flavour.
