Welcome to #behindtheface with @jackjforster Grand Seiko Spring Drive GMT, in its natural habitat: getting ready to head from one time zone to another. This time it's a redeye from JFK to Frankfurt. Spring Drive is Seiko's own hybrid electromechanical tech and it's unlike anything else out there: there is no battery, and the watch is powered by a mainspring driving a conventional gear train, with a quartz-controlled glide wheel regulator.
